AN ABSURD OBJECT
PACKAGING DESIGN
The absurd product is inspired by consumers demand of "fast food". The idea is to create a food item that can be prepared much faster than before. Using a strainer and spaghetti, it shorten the process of preparing spaghetti by skipping the draining process. Thus, the strainer spaghetti provides a next level of instant food.
This project allows viewers to rethink about the way we prepare food through exaggerated result.
All the illustrations are drawn by hand and edited digitally
HOW:
1. The spaghetti are semi-cooked to soften then soaked in cold water.
2. Then they are quickly weaved using hand-made cardboard loom.
3. Before it hardens, the piece of woven spaghetti is mould into the shape of a bowl.
The hardening process will take less than 2 days.
4. Lastly, the bowl of spaghetti is gently attached to the strainer
I explored weaving different types of noodles to visualise the possibilities of absurdity.
